    Lens "artiste"

I'm sitting behind a guy in church on Sunday, noticing his cool glasses.

They were blue Carrera semi-rimless frames (cool, very cool) but the coolest part was the optician used a blue nylon suspension cord, which gave the lens a hint of blue!

I am totally jealous that I don't have that "artiste" approach to glasses.

Where do you get that stuff?

What other creative things are being done? I want to steal your creative ideas because I have none.

The frame most likely came with the colored line. Carrera is shifting into much more of a fashion and color aesthetic these days. It's not common for frames to have colored lines, but we see it sometimes.
I'm Andrew Hamm and I approve this message.

I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you......

I’ll give up one, concerning your recent inquiries about tinted mono: Do a groove tint with nail polish. The color is all the way around the lens rather than only where the mono fits. You can do them on full rimless also with or without an included edge tint.

Now then...I need to know where you live......

Yep Carrera do coloured nylon threads on some of their supras. It looks cool. As does the face a face alium wire range which has a thin strip of coloured aluminium along the bottom.

Your lack of "artistic" talent is not at all uncommon among those who spend their entire work day in a darkened room.

A lot of Etnia Barcelona frames come with colored cords. TBH I usually replace them with clear. For one, I think it looks better, and two, I don't have to keep track of the replacement cords for years in case one breaks and needs to be matched. If you do want to use tinted cords just cut off what you need and drop it in the dye pot for a while. You can make any color cord you want. Or do like 24/7 said and paint, nail poish, color, etc. the groove. Works great if you need to make a custom rimless size for a huge/tiny noggin, but they want more color.

    Dick,
I spend quite a bit of time in my darkened room perfecting my photographs.....it's the only zen time I have.....And when not working on my photos, i spend time in my darkened home theater watching movies with several drams of Scotch! Much to be said for darkened rooms....and not all of it is bad, my friend
