    Huvitz/Coburn HPE-8000X edger w/ HAB-8000

    Hello,
    is somebody using this setup?
We do 97% acetate frames and hopefully in a few months we will hit 100 jobs a day. I've been loking at the HPE-8000X with HAB-8000 auto blocking. Is it realistic to do 100 jobs in 7h on this system?

No. 80, if you are extremely efficient and run clos to 50% CR39.

    Thank you for the answer.
Is there a setup you would recommend for 100-150 jobs a day?
Two thirds low index (1.56) and one third high index (1.61, 1.67). No poly, no trivex, no rimless.

What do you think about the HAB-8000?

It is the speed of the machine. Nothing you can do to speed it up.
You can edge w/o pin bevel, which will yield a job or two extra, but you will need to manually pin bevel it. Edge polishing will also slow it down, but will add more work after edging for you.

    OK, got it.
For 100-150 per day, 2 edgers will be required. I don't think it matters too much on the brand, as long as it can average 10-13 jobs/hr.
Bells and whistles only matter if your are drilling, edge polishing, step beveling, grooving, etc.

    Cheers.

How is the accuracy of HAB-8000 in reality?

Very accurate as long as you keep it maintained. A good unit for the price. Just not the fastest.
