Looking for glass trifocal lenses that are mostly intermediate, the best I could find is 10x35 photogray only from X-Cel with the possibility of mounting the intermediate strip higher. Maybe I should embrace this and quit whining.
They used to have 14x35 with acclaim 61 (61% of near vs the standard 50%) but now only offer that in plastic. We need glass and don't have an unlimited budget. Distance and near are mild corrections with a little astigmatism.
Executive/Franklin trifocals would be great as long as the top of the intermediate seg is above the pupil. Don't need much distance, don't need much near, mainly intermediate. We don't care about lines as this is a thin rx. Can't we still get a 100 year old solution today?
X-Cel also no longer makes ED trifocals (which would have been great). A double D could work too: usually with 2 matched Near D's top and bottom and intermediate elsewhere: I could substitute the top D to be distance but I can't find that in glass either.
Freeform progressives fit the bill but not available in glass (gritty workplace) and budget, especially if they will will be scratched up every couple months.
Any more ideas?
