    X Series “Tiers”

Long time reader, first time poster (be gentle!)

Can someone please explain the difference between the X Design and the X Fit? Is it only POW measurements?

If I order the fit and don’t supply the POW measurements, does the lab provide me with the Design OR do they give me the Fit with default POW measurements?

    Thank you.

You're right on the money! If you select the X-Fit, you HAVE to put in the additional measurements, but if you didn't take them and you select the X Design, you do not have to enter the additional measurements, but they're still on the same Tier. It's the same with the Comfort W3 vs. W3+.

    Hope that's helpful!

The Design is also only available in two fixed corridor, min fit heights 17 and 14. Fit is a full variable corridor from 14mm+.

    Thank you for the information.

I don’t think I was as clear with my question as I should have been. If I do not supply the measurements, does the lab supply me with the X Design OR do they use default measurements?

They will make a Fit with default measurements.

    Thank you.

I find it interesting VSP will pay us and have the patient pay us for custom measurements when in reality....we might not be physically taking them and being rewarded for it.

Does that mean VSP is having the wool pulled over their eyes?

Are you asking for the default POW measurements for the Via Elite? One thing I have learned is that VSP is well aware of what wool is out there and none of it is being pulled over their eyes.

And if you are charging for custom measurements but not taking/supplying them, VSP is still taking their chargeback cut, the lab is still being paid, and you are being paid by the patient. The only person hurt is your customer who paid for something you didn't give them.
