Looks like it could be HOYA's "Avantek" system. They sometimes call it their "Distortion Free Optics Package".

Looks like it. Thank you. No wonder I've never seen one, Hoya.
The way it seems to be phrasing "distortion free" is certainly misleading. However, when it comes to stress and strain put on the lens by tension, compression or the process of drill holes, then this mounting style is clearly superior. I've looked under a polariscope at these compared to a groove mount and a traditional Silhouette drill mount and the difference in the lens tension is actually quite significant.
I most definitely did not say that this comparison should be the end comparison of overall quality. But specifically in terms of tension or compression put on the lenses, there is a viewable difference. In the context of a clear pair of lenses, the distortions caused by tension or compression very rarely (if ever) seem to have a measurable difference in the quality of vision experienced by the wearer.
Now if we were talking about polarized sunglasses, then the polar tension absolutely would make a difference in quality.
