Contact lens materials supply chain standards

Hi all, is anyone aware of the standards that govern the quality of the materials that are used to create the contact lens in our supply chain? I'm not sure if they are the same as pharmaceutical products. Anyone can reference some of the standards used? (not cgmp) How can we be sure that they are no trace chemicals in these materials?

It does not really state what level of impurities in terms of ppm are acceptable or unacceptable for each step of the manufacturing process for example, whereas for the tightly regulated pharmaceutical sector, at every step of the supply chain, they are monitored extensively.

FDA Classification of soft contact lenses

Soft contact lenses are one of several types on the U.S. Market approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration[1] for corrective vision eyewear as prescribed by optometrists and ophthalmologists.[2] The American Optometric Association published a contact lens comparison chart called Advantages and Disadvantages of Various Types of Contact Lenses on the differences between them.

Thanks Chris for your reply, but these are all widely known information, whereas what I'm referring to are industry manufacturing knowledge, and specifically so on raw materials rather than the finished product itself. The FDA website might state some info but i'm sure there's more to that

No one cares enough to contact the ISO [ https://www.iso.org/standards.html ] and honestly I don't think that they have any data. While you are at it you could also check on Aunt Jemima pancake mix.
