I sent this video to all my employees and the doctors in the office.

I have a lot of thoughts on it and I think it touches on a number of things that matter (more so now than ever) when you want to either A) work in this industry or B) Own/start up an optical. Great job as always.

I had a question... Where are you sourcing 1.66 that has a better ABBE than 1.74. I am not a huge user of 1.74, and I see patients come with ill fitted 1.74 VariluxPhysioSupremeSXtraProvinicialSapphire lenses all the time as if that $900 lens is going to solve any and all woes. I dislike a lot about 1.74, but the 1.67/1.66 I get I always thought was a 32.

Anyway at that thickness most people want thinner anyway, I know I do.

Janet says, "Sorry misspoke - The Abbe is the same for 1.67 and 1.74. The issue is that because of the instability of 1.74, we have to run it .5mm thicker than 1.67. With that being the case, I personally don't see the advantage of 1.74. The other issue which everyone ignores is that 1.74 is NOT recommended for rimless, groove or drill."

No worries, 1.67 is almost always a superior material to 1.74. Especially the 1.67 that is available today. 1.74 coating adhesion/crazing problems UGGH.

I just like to be right.
