No not yet. I talked with some other friends of mine and they were even aware that these came out. I think they just launched these with the new mirror transitions. I'm trying to work with the reps from Essilor and the Essilor lab to try and get some samples.

Remember the ones they had a million years ago? They remind me of a more mature version. Kinda like they grew up! Looks nice!

Hoya has Sensity Shine available, which is a mirror coat transition. I believe you can get it in 3 colors
-Poly is the best substrate for coatings.
    -Poly is extremely scratch resistant.
    -Poly is extremely impact resistant.
    -Poly is unparalleled in clarity.
-Poly is much lighter than traditional crown glass.
Like poly, you can trust me about 40% of the time.

If you're thinking of Transitions Splitz, this new product is very, very different.

Indeed. I had several pairs of Splitz many moons ago and eagerly await their re-introduction to the market. Those, at least, had the functionality of fashion tints that became sun tints. What's the purpose of a clear lens that becomes a fashion tint outdoors? I can count on one hand the number of patients who'd find these colors comfortable substitutes for sun lenses.

If you look at the link you can see that this site is published by Essilor Australia and the product might not be available yet in the general market.

They are also called "transition style" and might not be made by Transitions. Maybe it is just some test market, and you might have to wait your turn.

They basically copied Transition's business model and are following the same marketing trend.

They are available in US now (launched July 16). Here's the US site https://www.transitions.com/en-us/ and here's the B2B trade site where you can order demo kits http://trade.transitions.com/freestyle/

The difference with Sensity Shine is that the combos are predetermined. There are three options: brown (photo) with copper (mirror), grey with silver, and green with blue. This shows quality control vs. choices. Essilor will let you order a blue mirror on a brown transition (though they do give a recommendation not to) and I've heard this does not make a good combo. I will be trying my first brown trans because of this. Just got my amethyst set in today

Still haven't had an opportunity to try out any Sensity. True to my experiences with Hoya, they've become extremely stingy with samples. Towards the end of our relationship with them, the ability to quickly and easily get product samples/vouchers from reps was one of the only positives about working with them; shouldn't be surprised that's gone now, too.

Samples are very pricey and not free, even for large customers.

....................you can always do that if you have no valid competition on a particular product.

I've been wondering if the Sensity Shine is completely new or if they have been available in other countries the same as Xtractive w/mirrors. Anyone have any facts as to availability outside of North America? As we have seen before, with other product, Hoya has done the same thing- having product exclusively available in other parts of the world.

Hoya has many products not available in North America. Japan, Asia and Europe always get the new stuff first, and they don't always make it to NA. The NA market is always about 2-3years behind initial launch dates. And here's why...it's all about the market and numbers...and it's really no different for any other large global manufacturer.

Population of North America 579 Million

    Population of Europe 741 Million
    Population of Asia 4.5 Billion

Zeiss just released some new photofusion colors as well. According to our rep, they will activate behind a cars windshield as well.

So far I can tell you that Amethyst is not well depicted in the ads. The true purple shown is much more vibrant than the reality which is muted. I assume all the colors have been enhanced for selling purposes at this point, though the Amber is the most likely to be true to the digital examples.

The mirror coats don't seem too overbearing on the XtrActives so far. I don't have that set in a frame yet but they look to be functional indoors. I will hopefully have some pics up soon!

Quince did you surface a sample set for your shop? or are you relying on the digital examples.

I had a set of each made for me from our outside lab. Thank you though for that though- I did not even realize I could order them semi-finished!

Our Hoya lab provided free uncut samples of the Shine lenses. I'm really digging it and since essilux doesnt seem intent to ever release their new options in the usa, i'm looking forward to selling some of these cool lenses.

(a bit of a humble brag but due to our acct size, our office is getting some rx-able sensity shine vouchers. cant wait to get my Sync III Sensity Shine)

Here in Italy we have them since mid 2017 I believe, I ordered a sample kit from Essilor with all the colors signature, xtractive, style they were kind enough to send it for free. I really like the sapphire one

It looks cool. It seems like a really dumb idea for Essilor to use the word "Sapphire" on two different products, though.
