    Peening a grooved rimless wire?

Pardon my ignorance, but how would I go about peening the end of a groove rimless wire?

If it's nylon, use a lighter or soldering iron to melt it and then press the melted end against something to flatten it a little.

I always used a Bic lighter. Still am using the same one from when I quite smoking a few years ago also. Amazing how much longer a Bic lasts when you only use it for melting nylon

Thanks guys. I don't smoke, but if I did, I don't think I could possibly quit being part of this industry.

You must climb the treacherous volcano of Mordor and forge this semi rim in its fiery hot magma.

Hey ak47, try the hot fingers for re-sinking hinges in plastic frames. There is pretty good heat control and it allows you to fashion the end into a neat ball which does not come loose. Cheers.

I had to do this for the first time in years last week. Had to run out to my car to find an old lighter from before my wife quit smoking four years ago. Bingo.
