Nidek LE-9000SX: Re-sizing lens into different frame

Hey folks, long time no see!

We purchased a refurbished Nidek LE-9000SX about 6 months ago and it's been working like a charm. I've run into an issue that I can't seem to figure out though. I've been trying to edge down a pair of lenses into a different frame. I know there's enough room to cut out, but the feelers keep hitting the bevel and falling off, resulting in the edger telling me it won't cut out. I know it has something to do with the FC/Frame change button, but following the instructions in the manual gets me to essentially the same point.

    Any ideas would be appreciated!

The FC mode should trace 1.5mm inside of the actual lenses shape so the feelers dont slip off. Are both the frame pd's similar?

The way I do it on the LEX1200 is to manually mark the optical centers with lensometer. Then I just trace the new frame and use the manual blocking mode to position the lenses on axis and make sure the edges will cutout. If the frame Pd's are very different you might have to decenter a little to make sure sides will cut out. Then just transfer over to the edger and select FC Mode before processing the job...this disables the safety bevel, so you have to do that step by hand.

I think there is also a way to do it using the active mode instead of passive but I am not familiar with that process.

    1) trace the new frame and edged a full size plano/blank throwaway lens
    2) block the existing lenses you want to cut down remove the throwaway lens
    3) Run again on retouch mode using the existing lenses to be re-sized
    4) repeat process for the other/left side lens
