Does anyone know if a poly photochromic with HMC and a 2.1mm center would pass the Z-87 drop ball test?

Yes
ANSI Z87.1-2015 high impact compliance would require the lens to pass both the high impact testing and retention testing. Each material/coating/lens retention system configuration would need to be individually tested by your lab to be in compliance. That means that even though the material and coating combination you're asking about might pass the high impact testing, your lab still needs to explicitly test that combination with the retention system (Hide-A-Bevel, T-Bevel, Grooved, etc.) that you might use. This means that compliance to the standard is a function of which lab/material/coating/retention system you use, not necessarily just the material and coating.
The standard is available for purchase here: http://webstore.ansi.org/RecordDetai...SEA+Z87.1-2015
