    Tracer Software

    Does anyone know if there is a software that would help me with the following;
    I need to trace to a computer, then be able to call the shape over to a number of different edgers.
    Specifically, I need to trace from a National Optronics 4T, then edge that shape on an AIT Maxima, and a National Optronics 7E.

    At my old job, I had an LMS (innovations) that ran surface and finish labs. We used a santinelli tracer, traced to a server, then ran 6 edgers, several different brands.
    Now I'm in a finishing only setting, so I don't need that level of software. I'm just not sure where to look.

    I would consider buying a new Tracer, but have yet to speak with a sales rep who can 100% promise the new tracer will speak to my old Maxima and other edgers.

    Any thoughts ?

    Thanks,
    Tom

    When I first opened in 2000, I had Innovations "Lite" which is a stripped down version. Not sure if it's still available. At the time we didn't run finish through software. Instead I had WECO finishing equipment with a direct connect setup. Tracer would send shape to one edger set as "Master" with other edger set to "SLAVE" . We were limited to 200 traces that the machine could save and would overwrite if same number was used. There is a way to set up your 7E as a STANDALONE and perhaps the AIT can pull shapes from 7E. Just a thought but can tracer be connected to both edgers via 2 data ports?

    Thanks, I'll give that a try. I did find a software called Digital Trace, but it costs $1500.
    I'll try using the bar code serial port to go from the 7e to the maxima.

    Thanks again

    Yeah, bar code serial port will most likely do the job.
