Why is it when a clear plastic film is adhered to the front of a polarized lens, or a ziplock baggie is held in front of a polarized lens, the light coming through the lens into your eye from the monitor does not seem polarized.
If you don't know what I'm talking about grab some edging film and put it on the front of a polar lens, look through it, that area will only be tinted and not polarized, it will not block out a light if held against another polarized object ( such as a computer moniter) a little plastic baggie such as those surfaced lenses from wholesale labs come in if held in front of the lens will produce the same results.
What is happening here? I think it may be that it is distorting the polarized light coming from the monitor so cross polarization isn't occuring. I guess that is probably the answer.
