Kodak Total Blue vs. Crizal Prevencia

What are the major differences between the Kodak Total Blue and Crizal Prevencia other than manufacturer and color of reflection? Is one better than the other? Also, can someone explain to me how the Kodak Total Blue works? Its supposed to work via reflection, but it doesn't have nearly the coloring of the Prevencia. Isn't it true that what you see as the reflected color is the actual bandwidth that the lens is filtering out?

    Thanks!

What is the *SPECIFIC* visible light wavelength(s) you are attempting to attenuate, and by how much *EXACTLY*? Did the doctor specify this information?

Well, would like to attentuate 500 nm and below, which BluTech would do, but the patient doesn't like that color.

Why that specific frequency if I may ask (that's a rather large swath)? Did Dr specify? If so WHY? Some actual medical need? Also, what percentage are you attempting to attenuate? The patient is aware that *ANY* blocking of visible light will result in a corresponding visible color shift in a lens right?

Give them a nice AR, tell them its a new magical AR that will relieve eye strain better than any of the "blue blocking" lenses and watch them come back happy with reports of their eyes feeling way better. Placebo is a strong drug. If were making stuff up about the benefits of blocking blue light, we might as well make stuff up about AR.

Sorry Neo but as you can see most of us here feel all of this blue blocking technology is smoke and mirrors created by "THE GREAT AND POWERFUL ESSILOR!!!

I'll believe in it when an MD's peer reviewed journal publishes a study proving it is a problem.

This is your answer... "other than manufacturer and color of reflection?"
