Blue Jumper Warby Parker .............PD measurement

    Measure your pupillary distance (PD)

PD is the distance between your pupils, and it's used to help center a prescription correctly in your frames. Before using our PD tool, review the steps below.

    1. Wearing glasses? Take them off for your photo. It also helps to be in a well-lit area with a clean background.

    2. Adjust your screen and look directly at the camera.

It should be positioned straight on with your face centered.

    3. Place any card with a magnetic strip under your nose and snap a photo.Make sure the card is touching your face, with the strip facing outward and right side up.

    Fake IPDs.

Add all of the other areas of negligence to the above and you have fake Rx eyeglasses.

Pretend PDs. They fit everyone with PC lenses it seems - I've have a couple of clients recently who came in with the W-Ps who told me they are now ready for "real" glasses (their words not mine). Both were uncomfortable despite the fact that there was little Rx change. I noted PC was the material in both cases. The answer to the ultimate question? Still 42.

    CONCLUSIONS:

Participants' ability to measure their own PD using techniques and applications available via the Internet result in poor accuracy and poor repeatability.

Redhot Jumper However I do not think that anybody is going to stop it, or even can stop it.

However I do not think that anybody is going to stop it, or even can stop it.

The online businesses of all sorts and types are here to stay, with the exception of the service industry, where you need direct hands on service, and be paid by time of your learned profession spent.

So if the conventional optical retail service is not ready for a change of the system, to charge for time spent, it might become part of history, in favour of online businesses, which sell an unfinished product in the optical trade.

Even the most “accurately” taken PD is “wrong” 15-17% of the time becuase of deviations in angle kappa...particularly for moderate to stronger hyperopes.

Does this also cover fitting height for progressives? The few patients of ours that have tried the WP progressives told us they were unusable and ended up back in our office purchasing a new pair. Our office policy is to not provide any free servicing/troubleshooting/rx verification for anything purchased outside of our office. All of our patients have been understanding of this.
