    Foreign (European) Rx notation question

    I received a Finnish Rx as follows. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the "= 1.00" in the Rx below represents? (Kauas is far, oikea and vasen are right and left respectively so this is the Rx for far vision.

    Kauas oikea: st + 4.25 cyl +.5 ax 90 = 1.00
    Kauas vasen: st +4.00 cyl +1.25 ax 85 = 1.00

    Thank you! not to be redundant but it this any different in meaning than the reading addition notation in a US prescription?
