Which Optician Association should I pay and register with?

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie and am looking to join an association to be better informed. I see that there are organizations such as, Opticians Association of America (OAA), National Academy of Opticianry (NAO), California Association of Dispensing Opticians (CADO), etc. Should I just join my state one? (I'm from California.)

    Thank you for your help!

You could join them all! But, if I were to join just one it would be the NAO. Their sole mission is Optician education. Lots of resources with good people at the helm.

I agree with NAO. I also like the idea of joining your state organization, but alas, my state is messed up. Haven't had a good one in a very long time. NAO, and a state one, if it is good. Always good for networking.

NAO is education. CADO works in your state. OAA is business and national legislative.
