    Tint for Macular Dystrophy?

Does anyone have any experience relieving issues related to macular dystrophy via a tinted lens? His Opthamologist thinks an "amber" tint might help. His Gray sunglasses feel too dark, his brown polar sunglasses feel too light, then too dark if there is any sudden shade. He is only somewhat comfortable with clear lenses on a very overcast day. Super nice guy.

If anyone has ever given someone relief with a particular tint please help I'm willing to try anything for this guy.

    Thanks,
    Ian

Yellow lenses: Some lenses can offer enhanced contrast for AMD sufferers. Sometimes called “blue blockers,” orange or yellow lenses are good choice because they offer contrast enhancement and better depth perception. (Keep in mind that it is not recommended that you drive while wearing these glasses!)
In order to get the best feel for whether a new pair of shades will offer optical clarity, reduced glare and enhanced contrast, try your prospective sunglasses on both inside and outside.

Thats actually what I was thinking also Chris, I'm going to show him some orange and kalichrome yellow lenses and see if it helps.

What about Drivewear as his sun pair? Or possibly the new Infinite Grey from Younger (haven't tried it yet myself...)

Either way- yellow seems to be the general consensus for a primary pair:
