ISO of a frame for my Father

My dad will only wear particular frames and has a rather large noggin. He has been wearing the same Autoflex 41Click image for larger version.

6 years and has worn off all the paint and I am worried it will break. He won't wear them if they are TOO round like the Artcraft stuff, and really likes the look of the "roundish" brooks brothers and persol frames (he sends me them all the time asking if they will fit) but they are all much much too small.

The Autoflex 41 he wears is 55-20 and fits him like a glove, they look big on a table, but perfect on his head.

I have been searching for 2 years for a frame he would like and fit. Please help me before he breaks his current pair. Toroise shell lining the front metal is a plus, but not necessary.

Are you sure he doesn't want the AutoFlex 65? Because I have a surplus of those I'd like to find a good home for! The only thing I have that large in a full rim flex would be the Bostonian Jim, if you are interested.
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

Does not have to be Flex! Even the Bostonian Jim might be small on him :(

Cannot be a double bar, he will not wear it. I may end up cutting and filing a double bar frame for him. Sigh...

I'll take another look later today to see what I have in non-flex. What about a minimum B measurement?

This thread makes me sad. People need glasses and nobody can fit them. Thank You Luxottica and Essilor.

Guess its time to usher in bespoke glasses. What is my best avenue for those of you that dispense them?

Unless he must have a full metal. There is always the option of selecting a 3 piece drill mount and putting the favored shape and size into it.

I hardly have anything with over a 39B, but the closest I could find was the OVVO Leo 2877

I have a modern optical account, I will check it out. I just wanted to get him a well made distinguished pair, maybe Modern optical is what I need to do.

Plausible - I am also considering the drill mounted route, not sure if he will like it though. It would solve a lot of problems for me.

And Quince, I know, it sounds huge but he is a big guy and what looks like an enormous pair of glasses on the lab bench fits him perfectly. A 39 B makes him look like he is wearing tiny round antique glasses.

He has lost weight though so maybe I can fit him into a slightly smaller frame, even skinny he is a big guy though. Thanks for all your help guys and gals. I will maybe order in 3 to 4 possibilities and see what I can do.

The 8177 is "too square" I tried that once. He may just have to make do with what I can get him, I'm just annoyed that he's done so much for me and I can't get him a pair of glasses that is like the ones he wants.

    Family are tough customers!

The Ovvo has a 43B! I know the structure is quite a bit more prominent- not quite the minimalist design he's used too- but the frame would certainly last years to come!

Other than that, I'm out of designer options. Casino does have some good sized options, but it certainly isn't the same quality. And you'd definitely need to do some double bar removal.

I'm actually meeting with the OVVO rep next month, thinking about bringing them into the dispensary. I'll check it out!
