    santinelli 9000 issue

    Re: Santinelli 9000 edger:

At random times, upon powering up, the first lens cuts with a flat bevel like a rimless setting, even when on metal or zyl frame selection. Anyone know why this happens, and how it might be remedied? As it is, we run a throwaway single vision lens each day to reset the bevel setting. After the first lens is cut, it functions normally.

Is the lens thickness on the screen WAY bigger than it should be?

I'd love to tell you I know how to fix it but this has happened to us ever so randomly and has not happened since we did a full service refurbish about 3 years ago.

Hmmm. Don't know, because I can't force it to do this. It happens at very occasional times, maybe once every 20 startups, or so. I'll look, though, each morning to see if that is happening. Thanks for the input.

At least I know ours isn't the only edger with this problem. Thanks for the reply.

Worked perfect.

I would try them. Saved me lot of edger down time trying to figure it out myself.
I'd bet my life that the LMU arm is catching through the hole into the grinding chamber after settling for the night. Probably needs to be screwed back into the base and the table its on isn't level anymore.

One day I will get my me1200, but dang if I don't know how to make a 9000 hum (thanks vsi)
