    Hoya Houston Closed

Just heard from my rep that Hoya has officially shut down operations at their Houston facility-- the one they just opened two years ago. Anyone heard anything more?

Our rep doesn't come around too much since we've slowed down considerably in using their labs. As long as Dallas doesn't go anywhere, I wouldn't be too concerned, but hopefully someone will recognize that their lack of quality service needs to be addressed if they want to thrive in North America.
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

Wasn’t it a finishing lab only?

Yup. And not even full service. Some types had to be finished at Dallas anyway.

So in other words...No big loss except for the employee(s).

Not so much a loss as an indication of the way the company's run. Who builds a lab, gets accounts signed up to it, then shuts it down and cans everyone and makes everyone switch back to what they were doing two years ago? I'm curious how much money they blew on this from beginning to end. Not the way to compete with E.
