    Photochromic Recommendations

Been trying to expand my horizons lately and play around with different photochromics beyond Transitions and their products. Got a sample of PhotoFusion from a Zeiss rep; Hoya won't give up a Sensity though I'm going to try a different tack. Any other products out there I don't know about?

VSP has their own called sunsync. Shamir uses transitions brand as does Essilor. I'm sure there are several other brands out there, just maybe not as big.

God I hope not... The 1.56 stock SunSensors back in the day would chip or crack if you looked at them wrong haha.

I have sold 1000's of sunsensors over the past +/- 20 years with no problems. I still have about 1300 pair of FSV that I will sell at almost give away prices. Our newest photochromic called Conversions is very comparable to Transistions at a much lower price. They are available with or without HMC. E-mail me and I will be happy to send a sample at no charge. don@superoptical or www.superoptical.com for stock information.

Last time a looked into the Zeiss photofusion was a couple years ago. The only down side for me was that it could only be used with Zeiss lens designs. Not sure if that is still the case. I don't have anything against Zeiss designs, I just prefer more flexibility. I've also seen the NeoChrome lenses. They seem to work fast and well during the demo we tried. I have not dispensed any however.

Sunsync is a good reliable photochromatic. I especially like that i have the opportunity to provide a complete lens package without using any product from teh big E.

Anyone use Vision Ease photochromic or their LifeRx photochromic lens? I do and they seem to work fine if not great. Haven't compared them to other brands though.

I was using these for my flat-tops but have switch to Younger for their trivex or composite (trivex top layer over poly) Transitions. The color is better and they change faster for about the same cost.
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

They were the best photochromic lens I'd ever seen when I was working with them. Granted, that was in 2001....

Zeiss PhotoFusion works really well, but I feel like the grey has too much of a purplish cast.
