Accufit is FIVE TIMES more precise - wait, what?

    http://legalnewsline.com/stories/511...of-new-lawsuit

    Here comes the lawsuit.

My chewed up, faded and slightly twisted plastic ruler held up with my unsteady left hand can deliver glasses of the same "precision" as ACCUFIT???
Don't get me wrong, I compensate for the bend and missing markings on my ruler, I mean, I know my equipment.
It isn't just about the precision, it's about the decision.

Precision is great - but let's say that in order to detect gravitational waves we need precision to about 10 ^-21 m. For PDs and Seg heights, about 10 ^-3 , plus or minus a mm or 2.
    Jus sayin.

Clarifye will not be too far behind.

Well said, I prefer my old school methods over most new measuring technology.

They make two claims: IPDs within .1mm compared to .5mm, and that this will help you see clearer.

I suspect that they will have to drop the "see clearer" claim, even if they optimally pre-adjust the frame, take multiple pupil heights to account for dynamic posture (not possible with some/most digital systems), and use optimal materials and surface designs that are consistent with the demands of the Rx and the individual's needs, the latter based on science, experience, and judgment of the optician. Other methods (marking the lens, subjective testing) are required for habitual head turns or fixation disparities.

As the OP says, there are decisions to be made, not just buttons to push, to achieve an optimal outcome.

All my lab buddies said the remakes due to fitting were the same or worse then they always had been when I asked them about 1.5 years after Accufit 2.0 came out. But now LC was able to hire less qualified people and achieve similarly bad results.
