    PD and focal height

Is there a way to check if the lab has put the focal point in the requested place eg from the marks on the lenses?

Also can only the full PD be checked from the marks and not the individual lens?

I tried to measure the PD and the full PD was correct but I tried to do the individual lenses and it did not match.

I learned ages ago that on a finished job you would measure the lenses on your Lensometer, move the lenses until the optical center is on the cross and make an ink mark/dot. Then measure the distance between the right and the left lens, which should correspond with the distance or near PD.

Mount the appropriate template to the lens. Place symmetrically on the verification/cutout chart.

Be careful that you do not introduce errors due to parallax.

    Hope this helps,

Checking "segment" height would indicate you wish to find the placement of the line on a bifocal/trifocal. (pretty self apparent to do)

If you are trying to find a progressive's fitting height you would locate the lazer engravings on the lens, determine what drop that particular manufacturer uses, then align on a cut-out chart like Robert provided above in the link.

All of this is correct, but I strongly suggest you find a technician to show you the proper steps in person.
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?
