When I asked them why it was so, I was told that it was cheaper to use the same lenses for the cheaper brand, than to make them in another base curve.

Just wondering how many lens names these days are also the same as others that claim to be better or newer or the latest invention.
I'm sure it happens more than we can imagine, especially with FF lenses. All they have to do is change the laser etching mark and presto.

Your assumption is reasonable, but you're way off base here. Luzerne is family-owned and operated. They are fiercely independent and intend to stay that way.
I echo my colleague Judy's suggestion here. Rather than make assumptions or jump to inaccurate conclusions, PLEASE invite us to come speak with you face to face. Anyone in the Luzerne Family will welcome the opportunity to answer your questions. There is nothing to hide, nor spin to cast here.

They enclosed a list of recommended lenses to switch Zeiss to Essilor to and I notice the Physio W3+ and W3+ Fit are not listed.

Should I correctly assume the Auto 3 and Auto 3 fit is the lens to go to?

Can a lens design guru like Jason or Robert M weigh in?

    Sigh and thanks...
The short answer is to order your Zeiss lenses from Zeiss or another independent lab.

In my moderate myopic astigmatic Rx, I found the Individual 2N and Auto 3 fixed 18mm very close in function, close enough to substitute for most. The balanced Individual is closer to the Physio and "S" and should be interchangeable in many cases.

    Hope this helps,
