    Changing hardcoat lacquers?

    Hello,

At the moment we use our lacquers for a set number of weeks, maintaining as required, then dispose, and refill with new.

We know, however, that some labs hardly ever change the lacquers, but rely on adding sufficient fresh to effectively 'flush' out the system.

Clearly, for this to be effective, we would need to be using a certain amount of lacquer on lenses and tooling each day.

Could anyone advise us, please, on what the critical average volume of daily lacquer usage would need to be?

    Best Regards,

    Quasimodo

P.S. Our lacquer system volumes are 10 000 mls.

personally I would like to replace the hard coat every 3 months but if you want to work without substitutions and with daily consumption I suggest you the empirical formula:
    1 total replace in 3 months = 10.000 / 70 = 142 ml / day
considering the "use" 0.15ml / lens (average) we have 950 lens / day to have a good hc replacement

    Many thanks Mauro,

That gives us something to work with.
