Position: Ophthalmic Technician

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
*Completion of Ophthalmic Technician training and/or certification programs Recommended- But NOT Required
* At least 2-3 years of Comprehensive Ophthalmology experience focusing in Retina or Multi-Specialty Practice. Preferred but not required
*Passionate and caring for each and every patient under all circumstances

Job Duties:
Performs daily work ups, ancillary tests, and be part of a team that communicates together each day with patients best interest in mind.


You will be part of medical team of our Retina surgeon and/or Cataract specialist to help them diagnose and treat eye disorders and eye disease. Performing basic and routine vision screening examinations Cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures. Tests patient's far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception. Examines eye for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers. Applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes. Measures intraocular pressure of eyes. Tests patient's field of vision, including central and peripheral vision, for defects, and charts test results on graph paper. Performs other tests and measurements as requested by physician. Gives instructions to patients concerning eye care
