Hi, trying to find replacement pads for this type of plier (my predecessor may have manufactured these himself, the pads, not the pliers) They say damascus on the other side, and inside the handles they say 44G, and Germany.

Super good pliers, but the pads are getting wonky - Hilco only seems to have pads for their pliers - so if there is something you can suggest. Pad is attached with screws, and honestly seems to be made from rawhide.

You will have to repair it yourself.

Any suggestions for the material? I am thinking nylon, leather, rawhide, hdpe, or arboform

Let me know if you find a good replacement, I inherited one of those exact pliers also!

This looks like an old Western Optical bracing plier. The material was leather, but you may be able to find some delrin pads that could be modified to fit.
