It's their own, I'm pretty sure. Has to be from Indonesia or Korea or somewhere in SE Asia where regulation is a foreign concept.
They send a sneaky fax verification trying to get you to change the CLRx to their brand.

Always say "NO!" to Hubble. They are not legit even by low internet standards.
They try to pretend they're "generic".
There are no "generic" contacts.
Saying "YES" to Hubble means they are allowed to refit your patient.
There's nothing like this on the internet.

We got our first phone verification from them yesterday. At least I'm pretty sure it was them from the descriptions of the verification message I was given. Super hard to understand, started very quickly, didn't give patient name just spelled it. Didn't ask for a brand, asked for a material type. My staff person was unable to get the spelling of the name completely and missed a number on the phone number. There is no option to repeat the message either. I did send them an email through their contact us link on the website, but got no response. So since we couldn't respond, I'm sure they shipped the lenses. Super shady company. I reported it to the OD's. They are looking into channels to file a complaint. Not sure that it will do any good.
And oh how they are flooding cable TV with their ads. MSNBC shows their commercials once an hour. Slick commercial, though. I'm sure the Zenni Parker types will get sucked in.Originally Posted by drk

Seriously, everyone is going to get annual refitting charges if they don't source their contact lenses from me, so I actually know what they're wearing. How can I evaluate and authorize a refill on a mystery lens?
That'll teach 'em.
Of course these sort of people will be the first to whine and scream about having to actually *pay* for your medical expertise each year. In addition to leaving some supremely nasty online reviews. Thankfully, not all are so obtuse, and actually understand both the concept of medical prosthetics, and the requirement for competent medical fitting of the same.

I just saw their TV commercial here in Southern California just about three days ago.
I am a firm believer in "You get what you pay for." Can't say the same for some of my patients. All you can do is educate them on the lens technology the best you can and hope they adhere to your advice.

Actually - I believe there IS something you can do. You can deny 100% of these attempts. They are NOT what doctors are prescribing. They are attempting to alter the CLRx. That is flatly illegal.
