    Any reason......????

Is there any reason Crizal A/R's can be applied to the Auto 2 1.74 and not the Auto 3 1.74?

Lens Blanks, the Auto 2 can use Essilor blanks, but the Auto 3 can only use Shamir blanks. (Now just don't ask me why Shamir blanks are not compatible with Crizal)

Hmn. I put Avance on every pair of Auto II's I sold in 2013-15. Is this a 1.74 specific issue/more recent issue?

Also, I had no idea Auto III required a Shamir blank.

The couple of people I know dispensing Glacier seem to like it. Patient and lab cost should be similar, it's certainly supposed to operate in a similar quality category.

yup.. Zeiss on Zeiss, Hoya on Hoya, Crizal on Essilor. Its the frontside HC. You would think that by now, the lens manufacturers would know how to properly strip the coatings from the competitor's lenses. But hey, what's in a name? If the thermal cured coatings are good, does it rally matter if it's an OEM or not? Better yet, start with an uncoated puck. No stripping necessary!

Script, something there just doesn't sound right to me. Check with your Shamir rep to see if that's really accurate.

Any active sales rep has to have a one track mind towards the products that he/she is selling.

Any lens treatment can be different if the basic lens material is not the same as another. Simply said, it is not the manufacturer who made the basic lens, but the material it is made of.

Hayde, it even says non-compatible in the Crizal availability chart. Was just trying to tap the great Optiboard for a reason for the non-compatibility, 1.74 is a tricky one to coat so the HC differences make sense.

Thanks for checking for me, Script! Could have sworn I had one of those in the past, but maybe not. Some labs are more timid with some combinations with others, so I thought this might be such a case---but if they print it then I guess I was wrong.

    Thanks for the edification, everyone!
