Mike has been in this industry forever and his tops manual is what most people have used to pass the test. If you were to send him a money order and include your contact information I would be sure he would sen dyou the manual, or you could contact him first. Whatever your preference, but I do know that he is a guy you can trust sending a money order too if that is your concern.

I've taken ABO exam in NOV. 06' but i failed it for a few points:o . I'm planing to take it again in May 07'. I'm using the same book that i used last time (Home study course, "Opthalmic dispensing review" frm Optical training institute). Is that a good book? Planned to take the NCLE too but it seemed to be too much!! If any of you can give me any good ideas on where to study frm and good study techniques who already passed the exam.. i would really appreciate it.. Thanks.. Waiting for Reply..

Get your group to put a meeting on. Bring Mike (and me ;) up as well.) We could be a contact lens/spectacle tag team. I'd do the NCLE and Mike would do the ABO. OR...we could do the advanced ABO.

Do you have a state association, or group that you've formed and/or supported over the years in your area? If not, now's the time to begin. If you have a group of eyecare folks, (I'll refrain from using the word Optician, for fear of drawing in those who aren't certified yet, or better still untrained), send out some form of notice that you would like to have a review/study group, and it will actually cost to get this done. Mike and I both work for a living, and expenses have to be paid. Anyway, if you're at all interested, pm me and I'll let you know how you could get it going.

Hi Snitgirl, I've just taken my ABO again on last sunday.. It seemed okay. I'm preparing 2take the NCLE exam now. Yes, i've the same books that u'd studied from.. but its too much info. I've this other book that i'd frm my program.. CONTACT LENS PROCEDURES AND TECHNIQUES, Written by LOWTHER/SNYDER. Its a small green book. Dont know which one's better. On the study topics i didnt see that its asking 2study history.. so.. i'm not sure if i need 2study the history too? u've any topics or remember..any portions that were asked for exam? thanks.

The Mississippi Association of Dispensing Opticians (MADO) is sponsoring an ABO Advanced Review on Feb. 9 - 10, 2008 in Jackson, MS. The speaker is Diane Drake. It will highlight what is on the ABO Advanced Exam and it also counts as ABO continuing education credit. Even if you're not interested in taking the ABO Advanced Exam, you can still come and receive CE credit. You can earn up to 8 CE's by attending.
