    Huvitz Edger

Its time to but a new edger. Was looking at the Huvitz 4000. Anyone have any experience with performance or reliability with this unit? I presently have an Essilor Kappa which served me well. Thank You

The 7000 is a nice machine. Slow, but the edge quality is really good and consistent. We put all of our edge polish on the 7000 and we only only need to lightly buff the lenses afterwards for a high luster.

Can't advise on the 4000, as I have never worked on it.

No experience with Huvitz. I was discouraged to buy it when I saw that the edger itself does not cost that much but they give you a free 5 years of service for free by making it expensive....
We switched from CTD to Blorange and very happy.

I think the MrBlorange is way superior to nidekle1200. Also I doubt LE1200 is better then kappa!

Ya mr orange cost like 65k kappa prob 40k range im guessing. Nidek le1200 awsome edger and cost approx 30k with ice mini blocker. For 25 jobs a day mr orange is overpriced and little overkill (waste of money). My opinion..just saying

For what its worth nideks in my experience are slower but I like them better than kappas. I've never used a mr. Ora ge but Lenny you are the first person I've heard rave about them (not counting reps of course!) That being said I respect your opinion

You are comparing a manual $200 blocker with fully automated blocker that checks RX, automatically blocks and drils. Thats where your $15K comes from. I cut jobs on LE1200 and it felt like santinelli 7070 or 8080 edger that I had in 1992!
The problem these days is not the quantity of the jobs but the quality of them especially the ones with higher end AR coatings! The newer tracers are also way superior to the older generation!
ME1200 is another story! But thats where the $$$$$$ are!

Im talking about the le1200 not the me1200. Not fancy doesnt have all bells and whistles as for drill unless you do high volume of 4points its not worth the extra$$& just farm them out save big$$$
