Pattern Server, LE-7070?

Hi, I am working with a Santinelli LE-7070, And was thinking I'd like to set up a pattern storage (Ideally something small that can access a NAS with a raid array) I was poking through my manual - and unfortunately only have the digest, and it talks about memory cards, but nothing about computer pattern management, I am certain some of you have set this sort of thing up in the past. I was wondering if you could point me toward some resources!

I tried a search but most of the references are a bit oblique. Is there a specific software package I should be looking for? A specific com to usb driver that's needed? or a specific file format I should be capturing?

What are the hardware requirements?

And I was considering doing some kind of emulation of the original solution (Building a memory card that passed it's information along to a wireless network like an eyefi card or something) had this been tried? I've got some coding/pcb/PIC experience and was more looking at that route.

Runs thru the serial port to a digiport to a pc.

This is designed to be a complete system and not just for patterns.
