    Soft CONTACT LENS

    Hi guys, so I am still studying optometryZ So I have this question, why do I have to add 0.6 mm to the base curve? Or idk i dont understand my notes right now 😂

    I hope you got your question answered from other sources, but I will reply in case others will find this thread. It is a rule of thumb, fit a lens with a base curve to close to the patients' corneal values it will not move adecuately. Which in turn might cause oxygen deprivation and other negative influences of the cornea and limbus area. With that said, sometimes the patient will have very flat corneal values but a normal sized soft CL might still fit and move by the book.
