Got a call today from a friend at an independent wholesale lab. He wanted to know what can his lab do to us so we can use their frame and lens packages. We currently edge in house..I told him and the only thing I might consider is outsource the 3pm to them as long as it sounds better money wise!
What do you people think is the best approach for them to push their packages? They have access to finished lenses as well...

Anything you can do yourself is always the best deal. Outsourcing has always been more expensive one way or the other.
There are jobs that I can outsource and not lose $$$. For example my machine takes 20 minutes to edge and polish a 3 piece mount polycarbonate job. At this time I can cut 20 other basic jobs! So when I have 15 rimless jobs waiting I am not so happy!
The other thing is a question of being equipped and having the latest and greatest equipment! I know Chris will tell me that he can do a better and quicker job by hand with his 50 years old Vigor drill but I still like the work that comes out from something a bit more modern.....

.................actually the my old drill was a brand new latest Essilor drill machine when I bought it in my old lab days.
Then I also used only the latest and best equipment one could get. However I still learned the trade the old basic way.

I have found their website been on it but it does not tell you anymore than we know already. It is all very mysterious, but
