    March 20th, 2017 6-month OPTICIAN/CONTACT LENSES training

BC College of Optics (BCCO) now celebrates its 33rd year of training Opticians and Contact Lens Fitters in CANADA, and our accelerated 6-month theory and hands-on practice program trains our BCCO graduates to Advanced ABO and Advanced NCLE level status. Our intensive opticianry program is aimed at motivated students who are committed to fully-learning the opticianry profession. And the US dollar is 25% higher than our Canadian currency, making this an ideal time to consider our Canadian opticianry training.

BC College of Optics (BCCO) is located 120 miles north of Seattle, Washington… near beautiful Vancouver, BC, CANADA. Full-time classes will begin Monday March 20th, 2017 and no Canadian Consulate 'Study Permit' application is required for USA residents. One (1) year of high school ‘Mathematics’(Algebra) is required, as our intensive program includes full optical theory with Geometric Optics formulas. From understanding ‘prism’ and calculating slab-off, to ordering iseikonic lenses, you will become a fully-qualified Optician/Contact Lens Fitter in only 6-months of intensive study.

All optical instrumentation and ‘hands-on’ practical in both Dispensing and Contact Lens Fitting is learned in-house, and includes all types of soft lenses. Specialty RGP contact lenses such as front toric, back toric and bitoric RGP lenses, plus scleral lenses and keratometer, biomicroscope (slit-lamp), radiuscope and lensometry training are also included. All in-house/hands-on training is taught by our fully-experienced opticianry and contact lens instructors.

Ask your employer for a 6-months ‘leave of absence’ if necessary, and then return home in September 2017 qualified to handle anything that comes through your employer’s front door. If you are truly motivated to advance in your optical career, this is an excellent opportunity to boost your optical knowledge and increase your annual income, not to mention add professional qualifications in your resume. Our ‘Registration Form’ for March 20th, 2017 classes may be found in our school website…www.bccollegeofoptics.ca

For further information on our accelerated training please do not hesitate to call our Assistant Program Director Sheree Watson at (604) 581-0101.

Formal education is your ticket to a future in opticianry.
