    Confused Stolen topographer?

I posted this on another board, but it seems nobody had any ideas on what to do so trying this board: I sent out my topographer to be serviced at a company in California that appeared to have good reviews. When I spoke with the guy on the phone, he seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy, but now it's been over 2 months and I can't get him to return my calls and I don't have the machine back. I contacted my credit card company re: the charges for the repair, but I have no idea what to do about the actual instrument! Any ideas?

What's the name of the company so others don't get burned. Are the person's initials A.S.?

The web site looks legit as do the reviews. I'd google the names of the reviewers to see if they are real ;or contact one of them for feedback.

Call the credit card company and have the charges reversed by reason of no return of the instrument, that will get them to react.

Seems unlikely. The topographer, if they have no intention of returning it, is worth far more. Contact the police department in the area where the business operates and file a missing property report. The po-po showing up on their doorstop is likely to get them to call you ASAP.

If you have fraudulently charged somebody on a credit card and the owner of the card complaints to the credit card company, they reverse the charge and use the laws to get back on the charging party for some valid explanation or a conviction if needed.

If it is a business, they usually correct the problem without any delay. Just my own expirience.
