Ribbon segment?

A friend's dad is a old school carpet layer and needs new z87 frame/lenses and wants a ribbon seg. My friend would like to stay away from glass - his dad recently had a surgical procedure on his sinuses and the surgeon felt glass lenses would be too heavy. So they got him a nice pair of OnGuard wraps with poly D28 lenses that are nice and light - but the Dad isn't happy with the seg style. The only ribbon seg I'm aware of is in crown glass - anyone know of a plastic ribbon seg on the market?

Try an 8x35 Poly or High Index and see if he will compromise. I think it would be extremely rare for somebody to reject an 8x35 due to segments being too narrow.

My guess would be he wants to be able to look under the segment, bigger would exacerbate the problem. Personally, have never used one in anything other than glass.
