    Wave Ultrasonic Cleaner Recommendations?

    Hello everyone!

Looking to buy an ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning glasses. Does anyone have recommendations as to what exact machine they use?

Should it have a heater element?
Will it be ok to put the lenses in with the glasses?
Can this hurt the AR coating like Crizal? With or without a heater?
What about plastic frames? Any issues?

    Thank you for any help!

Don't put AR in you are liable to craze them, won't happen every time - but it WILL happen. I don't think a heating element is necessary. I use min all the time. Got it from Dynamic, don't go too cheap on EBAY - make sure it is a "commercial" model not one for intermittant home use, one that is meant to be used every day for long periods of time.

I would never put lenses of any kind in, and I would never use a heating element or warm water. All manner of bizarre things can craze lenses, and uncontrolled heat is never a good idea with frames or lenses. Use the ultrasonic on frames and a toothbrush with dish soap on lens edges.

I've always wanted to make a super high framerate GIFV of a really gnarly frame "blooming" in the ultrasonic as it gets turned on.

It is a disgusting kind of beautiful.

Throw in some teeth while your at it!

What is reality but a concept unique to each of us? Can anything be classed as real when our perceptions differ greatly on so many things? Just because we see something a particular way does not make it so.
