Creating A List Of AR Reflex Colors

I'm trying to make a list of the various reflex colors for AR coatings that are offered, so I can refer to it when I'm asked by a client, and I want to make sure my information is correct (this information doesn't appears to be particularly easy to come by on either Essilor's nor Zeiss' respective sites for some reason but seems to be something clients commonly ask about)

Crizal Sun, Crizal Easy, Crizal Alize, and Crizal Avance all have a mild green reflex color.

Earler Crizal Sapphire has a mild cobalt blue reflex color, but now appears to have a sky blue reflex color, and Crizal Prevencia has a purple reflex color which can impart a yellow tint (Thanks to AngeHamm for this insight)

Zeiss Carat AR, Zeiss Carat Advantage AR, and Zeiss Allure AR, all have a mild medium blue reflex color (Thanks to Uilleann for this insight). Zeiss Teflon has a deep blue reflex color, but is known for having a low scratch resistance (Thanks to Slim for this insight) Zeiss Gold will have a gold reflex color, but is no longer offered (Thanks to LENNY for this insight).

Prevencia has a very purple reflex color, where Sapphire's is a pale blue. Prevencia also leaves a yellowish tint to the lens that Sapphire does not.

I wouldn't mind Hoya products being added to this list.

Yep. Crizal are all green or green/yellowish - with the exception of Sapphire which is a light sky blue now apparently (when it was new, it was a much nicer deep cobalt color that was much less visible), and Prevencia which almost has an appearance of a purple flash mirror. Zeiss A/Rs have a medium blue (though are much more prone to scratching in my experience.)

Good to know about the Zeiss products. I hadn't heard that before. Anyone that wants to provide information on the reflex color of other products, I'll be happy to expand the list in the first post and give appropriate attribution.

I believe everybody went to green residual. With the exception of Prevencia and Saphire.
    Zeiss used to have gold....

I think the zeiss teflon (deep blue) was the best looking. but scratching resistance was low.

Crizal has been the best that I have dealt with.

Gold was cool Andrew! I still have a pair.

    left to right

    prevencia (purple & green)

    zeiss teflon

    Crizal Avance'

That is very interesting; what color do you use if not specified? Isn't normally the blue-green the easiest to hit consistenly? I never specify unless we used to use the Zeiss Gold as a semi-mirror coating.

What do you prefer if there is a difference?

You specify which color when ordering, but the standard option is green. There's isn't much of a functional difference between the three, really just a cosmetic difference.

Agreed. It really helps to see the differences side-by-side, and also IRL. Makes them easier to identify when seen in person.

Someone mentioned Hoya earlier, I'd be happy to add them to the list, as well as anyone else. The ones I started with just happened to be the ones with which I am most familiar. Anyone that wants to supply the info, I'll be happy to add it to the list.

My co-worker told me crizal forte could also be made with light blue reflex. Haven't seen it tho.
