Vision Expo West Travel Costs - Hotel

I am looking to travel to Vision Expo West next year and looking to hear from all that attended this year and the last few years to get an estimate of what I should expect to spend for travel, specifically hotel cost. I know airline rates are varying.

Book flights early (everyone flies to Vegas.) Rent car at airport. Stay at Sam's Town (nice place, off the Strip) for $35 a night. Take bus or taxi to VE if you really must attend but spend a few extra days exploring the area. Kill yourself at the buffets but watch out for the loose women, pickpockets and dealers named Doc.

At $35 a night, that kind of big spending includes those loose women, pickpocketers and dealers named Doc right at your front door and down the hall.

For an additional $100, you're only worry will be bed bugs.

We usually stay there or at their RV park next door. Nice place, very clean and good people. It's where most of the locals hang out.

    Check it out at: http://www.samstownlv.com/

And, they do accept Canadian money.

Not everyone flies to Vegas. I've driven the last 3 years, and will probably drive next year as well. I have never been to a buffet in Vegas, and can't remember the last time I walked on the strip. Oh wait, this past year, I rode my bike down Las Vegas Blvd at 5:00 AM, on the way out to the bike trails. If you book now, you can stay at a decent place, on the strip, near the VEW, for around $100 per night.

Stay away from the locals. If you want to see them in their natural habitat, go downtown, that's where they tend to congregate. If you want to see homeless people, you can find them anywhere in Vegas.

Try Orbitz and package everything with air, rental car, and hotel. Their deals are incredible. Or just air and hotel for Vegas as there are umpteen taxis out there. Put in your dates and they come up with all the particulars. Good luck
