    Confused Hoya Issues

Anyone else having issues with edging Hoya lenses with Recharge? I had issues with these lenses slipping. We also have had Mystyle lenses edged by Hoya "scalloping" around the lens edges after mounting. Is it just me, or is something fishy with Hoya's coatings? We use Hoya Cleveland even though we are in Dallas because of turn around/ quality issues with Hoya Dallas.

The substrate matched ARs are the most durable long term, though they do have a 'fast' lab now (in Cleveland, I believe) that ARs in 24 hours. That one is just called Blue instead of Recharge though and hasn't been out very long. I assume you are using the original Recharge. Is it a specific material you are having issues with? My finish tech says to make sure you are using the blocking pads they provide for the front and back.

I hear you on lab issues in general though. Hoya has wonderful product being produced by idiots.... its unfortunate, but we have had continual lab errors and slow turn around for the most simple jobs.

    Good luck!
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

I thought substrate matching was just to eliminate newtonian rings. Does it also have an affect durability?

It does! We see a huge difference in the amount of warranties compared to other brands.
