Vision Expo West 2016 - September 14-17 in Las Vegas‎................................

It is still morning in Las Vegas and all the guys and girls exhibiting there can not wait until they can pack up and leave.

Funny that not anybody on OptiBoard has even mentioned the show. Also no one has made a some kind of a report about it.

Wondering how well it has done after having participated the shows for many years until the internet made it easier to stay home.

Perhaps it has lost its draw due to lack of interest? Everyone is either at the casino or brothel? Or singing to the porcelain gods from the night before?

Other than lens design and processing technology, nothing ever changes year to year. And watching a bunch of anorexic models walk a runway to promote a frame brand while a bunch of self absorbed narcissistic managers sip cocktails with the clients they rip off and pretend they are Karl Lagerfeld is enough to make anyone dry heave.

VEE has always been better and less distractions in NYC.

Maybe the reason that there has been so little news is either that nothing happened and no one was there to witness it. Or, as Lab Insight pointed out the few attendees are too rum sick or embarrassed to report in.

Perhaps the exhibitors will smarten up and drop these big extravaganzas and start attend State professional meetings. I would think that it would be much cheaper and far more productive. Cripes, rent a hotel room for the weekend, bring in a few gallons of cheap wine and some Tapas. Attendance will be much higher since if will only entail a few hours drive for the attendees.

In any case, Expo days are numbered.

In the old days we used to do 3 shows in the USA the 2 Vision Expos and the OLA.

In my case I stopped the 2 Vision Expos attendance in 1999 when my website came out and started with a few hundred visitors
per day after after a few month of presence on the web.

At vision Expo we used to see a total of maybe 200 people max. stopping over during their walk across the show.

These days my Website reaches around the Globe and the only cost is my time to keep it up. Seems to be a much better deal.

Agree. There's much better attendance and ROI on regional shows. Not to mention, it's much more cost effective for the attendees in time and travel. Perhaps these corporations need a reminder that it's about the client, not them.
