Help: Special marker writing won't come off of Sunglass lens

    Hello,

Having trouble removing writing from a special permanent lens marker from a few sunglasses, it usually comes off with mark away that contains acetone but it's not making a difference at all, does anyone have any suggestions? Below is the marker that was used. Thank You

The Lumocolor pen that you used is clearly marked "Permanent." Permanent in that it can not be removed. You are probably S.O.L. although you could remove it with battery acid or sandpaper but that might render the marked item unusable.

Redhot Jumper ........and yes it can be removed ..........................

Yes it can be removed with "Markaway". It is one of my ideas, and is sold your way by Amcon Labs.

    Have you tried lemon juice?

Where is the marker not removeable, on the sunglass?

Redhot Jumper Apply some Maple Syrup, let dry for 3 weeks .............................

Apply some Maple Syrup, let dry for 3 weeks and then scrape off with a knife and your marker will be gone.

Maybe stupid questions, but, were the lenses cr39 or have a tintable hard coated then exposed to heat? The ink may have leached into the surface. Was the ink on prior to hard coating or AR coating? Then it's under the coating and can't be removed without removing the coating.

If it's leached into the lens you may be able to use neutralizer on it.

We use those for almost everything. We use Inland Ink Remover to get the marks off. Unless the case is as optical24/7 suggested.

If the lenses in the suns have an anti fog coating it wont come off unless you remove the coating too. Learned that the hard way.

We use the Lumacolor to mark lenses with AR and remove it with Dynamic Labs Marking Remover Pen.

Lots of great suggestions. If none of them work, hold the frame firmly in your hands, make sure to look the lens directly into the offending area, and with everything you've got scream, "out damn'd spot!". It didn't work for Macbeth but it may work for you.
