    Intraocular lenses

Hi all, is there anyone who can make a suggestion regarding an eye surgery? My brother has a high prescription of -8.5 in the right eye and -7.75 in the left eye. He fears that he will become blind and he is scared of Lasik and PRK. Heard of Intraocular lenses offered by an eye center in Washington (Evergreen eye center) which sounds good. Any thoughts?

Somehow, I doubt you are in optical retail.

What you are asking about is phakic implants. They are not yet FDA Approved. The procedure is much more invasive than LASIK or PRK.

This is a very complex health issue and it is not the same as cataract surgery. You need to discuss this in person with appropriately trained eye care professionals.
