Redhot Jumper Frame chewers beware .........................

Of course, that’s a common sense argument, not a scientific one. It won’t dissuade anyone who wants to bring a nuisance suit in California against an optical company making or selling products that contain even a trace amount of BpA. Until manufacturers of polycarbonate frames and lenses can convince California officials that their products should be exempt from Prop 65, they should be prepared to comply with the ruling and issue the requisite warning.

Anyone that chews on their frame, other than very small children, deserves what they get.

I'm ashamed to admit a few years back I watched in horror as my daughter licked her lenses before wiping them with her shirt. Which reminds of awhile ago when my reading glasses I leave on my couch when not in use were constantly blurry. They looked like maybe a bit of water was splashed on them. I finally caught one of my dogs licking my glasses one day. So I would add no one should lick their glasses either because it's just gross.
What is reality but a concept unique to each of us? Can anything be classed as real when our perceptions differ greatly on so many things? Just because we see something a particular way does not make it so.

I agree. There is a very high percentage of disgusting stupid humans that will ingest just about anything.

Aren't all the frames and lenses coated?

I doubt a lawyer would ever take on this type of case. It's ready made for ridicule and proving this particular product caused the health issue would be impossible to prove. No money = no lawsuit.

Plastic frames have never been coated..............metal frames can have a metal coating or plating.

    Much ado about nothing imo.

Virtually every can of something you've consumed has a coating of this stuff, does it not?

The only money to be made on this is from a lawsuit of the class action form against a large corporation and even then any settlement would be "to make it go away". And I can easily see any company vigorously defending that it was "their" product that caused the health issue.

    Edible Eyewear...

This is the only obvious solution...I' m pretty sure the underwear industry ran into this same problem a few years back.

Brilliant! I really don't want to think about 'people chewing their underwear' as a problem though lol! It can't be unthought...

Maybe we could approach this like people who can't stop biting their nails? Coat the temple tips with something so gross people won't be able to stomach tasting it.
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

Speaking as someone who had a horrific nail biting problem from childhood up through maybe eighth grade: that'll never work!
Maybe we could start applying aluminum foil to the temple tips... Agh!
