Suggestions for a manually panto measuring device that isn't cheesy

Does anyone know where I can get a manual tool to measure panto that works consistently and isn't a piece of junk?

I have one from Zeiss and 2 versions from Shamir and they are not professional grade tools.

What do you want to measure? The pantoscopic angle or the pantoscopic tilt?

I'm sure AK means the pantoscopic Tilt when being worn.

hmmm...the Zeiss device in the link is what I have been using, but the needle is fidgety, doesn't appear terribly reliable. would you recommend lubricating it?

    ak47,

It looks like there's a black washer under the pointer arm, not sure of the material. My favorite lube for optical drives and frame hinges is Syncolon. Silhouette has a Teflon paste that should also be safe and effective.

    Hope this helps,
