Annual servicing of your phoroptor is essential for the extended life of your phoroptor as well as clear, accurate refractions of your patients. It is also very important for sanitary reasons. Over time, things like dust, oil, skin, saliva and hair will collect on and around the patient windows (the holes that the patients look through), bringing potentially harmful bacteria very close to your patient's eyes. Perfume and other air impurities along with oily smudges and dust will build up on the lenses, obstructing the patient's view.
Furthermore, with so many moving parts, all working in concert with each other, it is natural that things come out of adjustment or off axis with time and use.
As a special price to the Optiboard community, We are running a special on phoroptor service for only $149!! All work is performed by a factory-trained technician and is GUARANTEED, as it should be.
Our complete phoroptor service includes:
*Disassembly, inspection and lubrication of all mechanical parts, bearings and assemblies.
*All optics are thoroughly cleaned and checked for correct axis and alignment.
*PD main support (of lens banks) and convergence mechanisms are inspected and lubricated.
*JCC is inspected and lubricated. Cross cylinders checked for correct alignment. Any necessary adjustments are made.
*Cylinder axis scales are inspected for correct alignment. Any necessary adjustments are made.
*Control knob tensions are adjusted for a smooth and correct feel.
Here's how to do it:
1. If you need a loaner, the cost is $60 to ship one to you and then back to us. Please call to confirm availability.
2. Once you receive the loaner, place your phoroptor in the same box and attach the enclosed prepaid UPS label to the outside. UPS will pick it up.
3. Once you get your phoroptor back, repeat the process as many times as needed and simply rotate the loaner from room to room.
If you do not need a loaner, shipping is just $30 back to you. You just ship us your phoroptor. We can even provide you with a safe shipping box for just the cost of shipping it to you.
Free pick up and delivery anywhere within 2 hours of West Palm Beach!
We can also offer the same service and pricing for your lensometer or your indirect (BIO).
