    re: MEI Ezi-Fit

I'm considering a MEI Ezi-Fit edger. Is there anyone on Optiboard who has one or uses one and would give some feedback on it and/or MEI?

So I can't comment on that specific machine, but we do have a Bisphera with their TBA (blockless) system. And a second one is supposed to show up before the end of the year. Also have a 641 and their shape finder.

From what I've seen about their machines, they work very well. When you get training, though, you want to make sure you take notes on everything. It's better to avoid having to call in with a question.

You seem to have the exact same setup that we use in our Lab. I was introduced to MEI and their products about three years ago. I've had trainings on the Bisphera and Shapefinder. Worked for those years on the 641 and a bit on the ezfit. I absolutely love them. The EZFit is pretty much the same as the 641 but in a smaller body that can fit through a door.

We have one, the NBL version and love it. It takes several steps out of the daily routine. We mostly use it for drills, AR, and step bevels.

Consumables can be pricey, but by the time we factor in the cost of leap pads, blocks, anti-slip products, it isn’t that costly after all. You do need to keep up on maintenance. Higher RXs can cause issues with the suction.

You can PM me for other details.

We use a NBL EZF it as well. For exactly a year now. I'm glad we bought it, it makes life much easier, and we are able to do better glasses because of it. Very easy to maintain and also their support is top-notch. WE only had a few slippages with high power poly when we overused the drill.

I asked lensmanmd a few things before we decided, thanks again for the help.

I believe Craig Chasnov at Itopian optical in Florida uses one.

    He's a member here.
