    B & L crimp-on nose pads

I'm trying to find a good (i.e. cheap) source of B& L nose pads. I just ordered some from Amcon, but I think there are likely better deals out there.

Is anybody still making frames with those obsolete pads? I haven't need one in years. If I had someone come in with an old B&L large metal I'd tell him to donate them to a museum, or put the antique in a shadow box and hang it on the wall...

    ..........that was a perfect answer.

I would just like to ad a congratulation to Amcon to even been able to supply the items for a frame that is at least 50 years old with a nose pad system that nobody else has been using ever since on quality frames.

I'm using it on a Pro Design frame which normally would have mushroom pads. These pads seem to pop out or tear very easily. Sometimes an old solution is a good one. I'm actually surprised you would be down on that type of pad, Chris.

jefe..............Actually I was a champion in selling B&L Aviator Raybans back home in my Fathers optical business in Switzerland, when they hit Europe with them pads.

My home town was the center of the Swiss textile industry at that time, with a lot of rich manufacturers, which most of them moved the business to China like everybody else.

I hate those NP! Maybe it's me, but I could never get them off without a lot of cursing under my breath. Darn things.

As always Hilco has you covered...

Rayban still uses these pads on some frames.

Thank you, Walter. I just bought some at Amcon but was starting the thread because I want to find a source from which I could buy a lot of them for a low price.
